Chief Ihediwa applauds Class of 92 of Govt College Umuahia; calls for more unity, fairness and attention to Restoration Project

 The National President of Government College Umuahia Old Boys Association, Chief Uche Ihediwa, has expressed satisfaction at the organization and conduct of Class of 92 of the Association. He said this while receiving representatives of the Executives and members of class of 92 of Govt College Umuahia, led by Dr Chimezie Okwuonu; who came to pay a courtesy visit to him on Monday 7th June 2020.

He described the conduct of the class as laudable and worthy of emulation. He recalled how the Restoration Project of the School has pulled together so many old boys of the college and awakened interest and participation in the affairs of the school. He used the opportunity to call on the Old boys to continue in their commitment to the Restoration Project. He thanked an unanimous donor who had contributed significantly to the take off of admission in the school. 

Earlier in his remark, the Chairman of Govt College Umuahia Old Boys Association, class of 92, Dr Chimezie Okwuonu said that the essence of the courtesy visit is to create an awareness of the class and identify with the restoration project and his administration. He added that the class of 92 of the alma Mata are organized, have empowered classmates to start business from scratch and have developed a bye law, welfare policy and investment policy, all geared towards looking critically into each other welfare issues and set some guiding rules for their operation. Other activities which the group had undertaken included an Economic summit, business seminars, medical lectures, regular class meeting and two re-union activities. In the future, the class has plans to develop a common business he added. He also said the class is planning a third re-union, to be held at Enugu town.

Dr Okwuonu further emphasized that the class is willing to partner with the Old Boys Association to uplift the image of the School. 

Highlights of the occasion include presentation of a plaque in appreciation of excellence in leadership to Chief Ihediwa, picture session, singing of college anthem and light refreshment.

The courtesy visit had in attendance, the class welfare officer, Arc Uche Oke, the Provost, Anaelechi Nnadi, Barr Madu Noel, Arc Chijioke Ndukwe, Mr Tochukwu Onyemaizu, TPl Godson Nzeuzor, Nwabueze Ebere Chinedum and Uchechukwu Udo Kalu
