Herbs in Nigeria that causes kidney disease

 The implicated herbs include 

1. Chinese yew (Taxus celbica) extract

2. Impila (Callilepis laureola), 

3. Morning cypress (Cupressus funebris Endl)

4. St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum),

5. Thundergod vine (Tripterygium wilfordii hook F), 

6. Tribulus (Tribulus terrestris)

7. Wormwood (Artemisia herba-alba). 

8. Chocolate vine or mu tong (Caulis aristolochiae), 

9. Guang fang ji (Aristolochia fangchi),

10.Ma huang (Ephedra sinica)

The main questions are

A. Do you know the herb you are consuming?

B. Do you know the dosage of the herb for age, sex and weight?

C. Do you know the shelf life of the herb?

The herbs are potent, curative and also have side effects. Those listed above have been discovered through pubmed to have studies attributing kidney toxicity to them.
